I've written before about how Heather Corinna is one of my heroes of the Internetz.  Almost single-handedly, she created and has maintained Scarleteen, the single finest internet resource for teens to learn about sex, either queer or straight, without learning gobs and gobs of garbage about Virginity or Marriage is the one and only way.  Scarleteen is essential for anyone who gives a shit about sex or about teens, and it behooves all of us to make sure that it and Heather are in good shape. 

Unfortunately, that's not always the case.  The last year or two have been particularly hard for Heather in terms of fundraising, and Scarleteen has been hanging on by a thread.  For those of you who are in the New York City area, Scarleteen has a special new promotion to encourage you to give money.

Until September 16th, the first 18 donors who make the largest contributions to Scarleteen will receive a voucher for the hot new off-Broadway show, My First Time.  Think The Vagina Monologues but about, well... people's first times (and without all the ridiculous sex-negativity of Ensler).  The show has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, the BBC, and even that other network (the "fair and balanced" one).  It's had guest stars that include some of the smartest thinkers on the East Coast alt-sex scene, such as Rachel Kramer Bussel and Jamye Waxman, so getting these tickets is not a bad thing if you want to take a date out to an interesting show.  Plus, you get good karma.
