I was skimming the LiveJournal thread Sunburntkamel refers to in his comment, and came across his own comment saying that the bus driver in this case is unfit to do his job. I'd agree. How does he handle all the distracting sites on the streets of Landau if he can't handle the "distraction" of one attractive woman his rear view mirror? Then again, if he's so distracted by the women on his bus, he's clearly not watching the road very much.

And it's not only the Germans that pull this shit, either. Of course, there's the two girls in Portland who were recently kicked off a bus for kissing, and I remember in the mid-90's, a San Francisco MUNI driver beat up a gay man who kissed his partner. The city tried to fire him, but the union got him reinstated. Of course, in neither case did management try to assert that the driver did the right thing.

i saw this on my local transit blog. it's amazing the level of misogyny that passes as defensible. no matter how she was dressed, the driver should still be fired for his inability to keep his eyes on the road.

It sounds like the Germans need to get their bus drivers laid. Or at least they need to get ready for a shitload of harassment suits if this is how they treat their passengers:
