A few notes, one exciting and one not so much:

1. On the exciting side: See the little blue "b" icon at the end of each NYT headline? That stands for 'blog this' and if you have a blog on this site and you click that icon a new blog post will automatically open up with the Times article linked and cited and everything. Pretty cool.

2. On the less exciting side: Of course it seems an increasing number of Times articles are being reserved for Times Select users. These are marked with a [TS] at the start of the headline. TO read these not only do you have to be registered but you have to be a paid subscriber. Rotten. I'm told, though, that if you have a ".edu" email address that you can get Times Select articles without paying. Any other strategies?

Note: If you don't have blog access here but would like it, just drop us a note and we'll sort out the details. Blogs are reserved for "regular contributors" for now, and we'd want to just discuss what kind of regular contribution you'd be interested in making.

Whatever the problem with their spiders had been, it is no longer. They have found us and we are officially claimed. Hurray! So, tomorrow I can get back to fixing those stubborn line breaks.

Right now I'm too frustrated with technorati to be upset by your snottiness, JB ;) I've never had a problem claiming a blog in the past, but for some reason I'm having trouble now. All that is supposed to be requires to to include this code: Technorati Profile in a blog post, and that's that. I've done that. Twice. Technorati can't find the code. Grrr.

Ok, that last comment seems way too snotty in retrospect. You guys are doing a wonderful job with this place, and I meant that more as "ok, it used to be a minor issue, but now it'd be great if you could find a place for this in your priority list".

Ok, I hadn't really been too bothered by it, but now I'm officially annoyed at the loss of line breaks.

<---- I put a line break here but it disappears when I hit "preview", and I have to re-insert it in the rtf editor. If I get in a hurry and just hit submit, my comments/posts wind up in one big massive paragraph. Once they've been re-inserted in the rtf editor on "preview", they seem to remain in place no matter how many times I hit preview, so the problem seems to be related to the loss of the rtf editor for comments on the original blog post page, if that makes any sense.

Just so y'know.

Heh heh. I'd seen them pop up a few minutes ago and am already busily poking them. I've sent and received trackbacks to/from UDoJ already on the Vitter and Wilson blog posts that I've crossposted in the last few days. They seem to be working well in both directions. Kisses
