I'm working on a longer post

I'm working on a longer post on this topic (I rarely make the designated days dealios :sigh:) and will place/whore my link here when I do; but I wanted to thank you for the intelligent post. I'm continually amazed that those with the most to lose are the least involved ~ that sort of apathy frightens me.

"In 1967 the Loving v.

"In 1967 the Loving v. Virginia case made it clear that it is unconstitutional for states to prevent interracial couples from marrying. Does anybody argue about whether the partners in interracial couples are "born that way" (i.e., somehow biologically inclined to sexual attraction and love of people from other racial groups) or whether they've "chosen" to partner with people outside their own races? No. In fact the biology of sexual attraction never entered the picture in the Loving decision. The question was one of whether or not it was legal for the state to regulate marriage by taking race into account."

I love the way you framed this argument. Thank you for the article. I just wrote a similar one on my blog without even knowing about yours, in regards to the recent Mother Jones' article "Gay By Choice?" (although i think you say it better than me)

NCSF feature

Chris, I think this should be a regular feature. If you post the next one can you make the links to the full stories functional? I think that would be great. I especially think the last part, calling for people to write letters to editors, and to help create a positive image of sex practices like BDSM, polyamory, swinging, etc., is important. Thanks for posting this!

Biology of Choice

I thought your column on The “Biology v. Choice debate” has no place in a discussion of sexual freedom and civil rights" was one of the most impressive and comprehensive pieces I've ever read on the issue. Thanks for cutting through all the rhetoric and false arguments and presenting a clear statement I can believe in.

Spam. Gone. I rule.

(That was a bit cathartic, actually.)

:)

Good News, Bad News

Wow. While this is a good news, bad news situation, it's not over yet. And it's progress. While this fight is not yet won or lost, let's not forget that five years ago, even two years ago, this much would have been unthinkable.

Progression is slow, too slow, but it is unrelenting, and we shall overcome. Each and every day that goes by, the religious fascists that long for some dark age theocracy become more marginalized and they lose ground to ever enlightening minds.

The vocal minority of shrill insanity gets louder but smaller, ever more shrill but ever more ridiculed, ever more scoffed at, ever more ignored.

There is yet hope, and more hope than there was yesterday. For that, I am grateful.
