Times Square Kiss-In

The Museum of Sex staff will be handing out breath mints and museum coupons at the annual Times Square Kiss-In, on Tuesday, August 14 at 1 pm. Couples interested in participating must register on the Times Square Alliance website. The Museum of Sex joins the The Times Square Alliance in encouraging "all couples whose kisses bridge boundaries, be they religious, political, racial, national or otherwise" to join in this special moment.

On the anniversary of the end of World War II, the Times Square Alliance invites couples from all generations and of all types to celebrate in Times Square, in honor of the US Armed Forces and in celebration of the universal ideals of peace, love and hope.

The Times Square Alliance is issuing a call to arms – and lips! – as we celebrate and reenact a moment of hope and renewal crystallized in the famous 1945 image of a sailor and a nurse kissing passionately 62 years ago, on the very same day and in the very same spot in the heart of Times Square.

Couples can pre-register now to participate and be automatically entered for a chance to win a night in a Times Square hotel, tickets to a Broadway show, or dinner on Restaurant Row (you must be present to win).

The first 200 attendees will receive complimentary sailor's caps and roses.

A special invitation is extended to couples whose kisses bridge boundaries, be they religious, political, racial, national or otherwise, as well as veterans of WWII, returning veterans from the Iraq War, and couples in costumes commemorating the original 1945 kiss. Kisses will be broadcast live on the giant Times Square Panasonic
Astrovision screen.

The sculpture "Unconditional Surrender" by acclaimed artist J. Seward Johnson will be on display. You can also check out the sculpture at the Times Square Information Center from August 7-14.
