Think all those working in the sex industry are ditzy no-brained whores?? Well, guess what! You are SO wrong!
The Sex Workers' Art Show Tour is an eye-popping evening of visual and performance art created by people who work in the sex industry to dispel the myth that they are anything short of artists, innovators, and geniuses!
The wildly successful cabaret-style show is hitting the road again, bringing audiences a blend of spoken word, music, drag, burlesque, and multimedia performance art. Intelligent and hot, disturbing and hilarious, the performances offer a wide range of perspectives on sex work, from celebration of prostitutes' rights and sex-positivity to views from the darker sides of the industry.
The opening of Modified Eros, an erotic art exhibit of photographic explorations of body modification and eroticism, featuring photography from BellaVendetta.com, and curated by Audacia Ray.
CINEKINK NYC - CALL FOR ENTRIES

So I'm recovering from yesterday's Coney Island Mermaid Parade and just posted some of Will's photos in our galleries. In the red menu at the top, click Galleries > Elizabeth's Photos, then select the Mermaid Parade album.
(NOTE: You need to log in to see photo galleries on this site.)
We got there a little late because we were having such a good time getting ready, and so didn't have a great position for taking pictures, but we had a blast all the same. (Sometimes when you're having lots of fun you're just too busy to take pictures!)
The Coney Island Mermaid Parade kicks off the summer on the first Saturday after the solstice every year. This year it's on Saturday, June 23rd. The parade steps off at 2pm and the Mermaid Ball starts at 6pm. The parade route is from Astroland to W. 16th street along the boardwalk, and then down Surf Avenue between West 16th Street back to Astroland.
If you've never been, it's quite a site: think "art parade + burlesque show + pagan rite of spring + amusement park" and you'll be close.
This is me at last year's parade with a parade regular, his parrot and his poodle.
